Registration: Please use the forms available on the congress website to make registration directly to Chinese Comfort Travel Group Co. Ltd. (CCT) in Beijing. See FORMS
You may send your registration forms (payment by charge card) to CCT by its fax number of: + (86-10)-8595-1128 or by mail (payment by bank draft) as indicated on the registration form.
Accommodation: The hotel for Congress participants is located in the same building at the congress venue of Jiuhua Spa and Resort. The venue is located in the suburban areas of Beijing about one hour by car from the airport or Beijing City.
Pick-up Service: By September 1, please indicate to CCT about your flight number, date and time of arrival (and departure) so that CCT will provide pick-up service for you between airport and venue without charge (fee included in the registration fee). The CCT staff will hold a sign with the Association’s icon (that appear on the right upper corner of the home page of this website) to meet you in the airport when you arrive.
Local and Post-Congress Tours: The Congress-related tours will be arranged and managed by the CCT. Please make your reservation early because starting the end of September, the Chinese are going to enjoy their 10-days national holiday and many million people will be traveling domestically or internationally. Your early registration will make it easier for CCT to make tour reservation for you.
There is a new addition for the one day local tour (LT3) to the Great Wall and Ming Tombs on September 23, in addition to that scheduled on September 27.

Facilities at Jiuhua Resort: The Resort offers numerous opportunities for sports, recreation and entertainment. Facilities include a 32-lane international bowling center, indoor tennis courts, badminton courts, exercise rooms, 4-d cinemas, nightclubs, and KTV. See VENUE The Jiuhua Resort is famous for its hot spring available in various styles of spring pool or spa, public or private, outdoor or indoor. Be sure to bring your “swimming suit” to enjoy the hot spring! See the Jiuhua website (www.jiuhua.com) for hot spring protocol.
Meals: The breakfast is included in the accommodation. During the Congress, buffet lunch will be provided by the Congress for participants and their accompany persons (included in the registration fee). Those who wish to have special meals, such as vegetarian or non-pork dish, please indicate to CCT. The chef will make an effort to accommodate such special requests, if possible.
Welcome Reception and Farewell Banquet: The Welcome Reception is scheduled for September 23 (5:00 –7:00 p.m.) and is free for all registrants and accompanying persons. The Farewell Banquet on September 26 (6:00 – 8:00 p.m.) cost $50 per each person. See TOURS AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Travel Tips: Please bring with you the necessary and special medication for your self, including the ordinal medicine such as for: diarrhea, sore throat, cough, or allergy. Because many restrooms on the road, particularly in rural areas, do not provide toilet paper, therefore, please bring with you tissue. This is particularly true when you plan to take local or post-Congress tours.

They may not be familiar with the location of Jiuhua Resort (even it is built for national and international conference). The sign for the Chinese name of the Jiuhua Resort and its actual address in Chinese is available in this congress website for you to download, print, and carry with you, in case you want to take taxi to get there. About the First World Congress of Cultural Psychiatry
The First World Congress of Cultural Psychiatry organized by the World Association of Cultural Psychiatry
will be held in Beijing, China September 23-26, 2006. The Institute of Mental Health of Peking University will be the local sponsoring organization.
The World Association of Cultural Psychiatry is a newly established non-profit, freestanding, independent, international academic
organization, with the aim to promote the exchange of scientific and educational information and the progress of international
activity worldwide in the field of cultural psychiatry. The association is affiliated with numerous national organizations of
cultural psychiatry, from USA, UK, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, China and others. All colleagues around the world, with background in psychiatry,
clinical psychology, medical anthropology and other mental health-related disciplines who are interested in cultural psychiatry are

Congress Philosophy
In order to encourage an exchange of ideas and experiences, generate scientific discourse, and promote the progress of
professional knowledge in the field of cultural psychiatry, the Association is going to hold its Congress every three
years at the different continents of the globe by rotation. For its first World Congress of Cultural Psychiatry, it will take place in Beijing,
China to facilitate the interaction of participants from East and West. The primary theme will be: “current perspectives on research and clinical issues in cultural psychiatry around the world.”
The venue of the conference will be the Jiuhua Resort and Spa.
It is located in the suburbian area of Beijing City and the Jiuhua Resort and Spa is a multi-function venue with a great history of national and international conferences.

Congress Protocol
For this three and half day congress, the inaugural ceremony will take place for the formal establishment of the Association.
It will be followed by the scientific program which will consist of preliminary presentations, topic symposium, individual presentations,
and posters. All the important issues and topics relating to cultural psychiatry will be focused, elaborated and discussed through this
international meeting.
The formal language is English and Chinese.
Conference related tours will be available before, during, and after the congress to visit the city of Beijing, and many other famous tour sites.
All the colleagues around the world, who are psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, cultural anthropologists, and mental health-related workers,
being interested in cultural psychiatry, are welcome to participate in this historical event which will be a landmark for cultural psychiatry.
